Excerpt from Aurelia and the Three Bodyguards

Kaiden stood over Rafe’s shoulder as Rafe flipped through their accounts. “I think we have enough to get through this slow spot,” Rafe said. “Business has got to pick up soon.”

As if on queue, a small chime sounded. Someone had come through the outside door, tripping the charm Kaiden had laid over the threshold. He clapped Rafe on the shoulder. “Maybe our luck is about to change.”

The most beautiful woman Kaiden had ever seen stood in the lobby. Okay, she wasn’t perfect by L.A. standards. She had a few too many curves and she looked more harried than fashionable. It didn’t matter. He couldn’t take his eyes off her. Her softly curled blond hair fell past her shoulders and her big blue eyes dominated her face. Her mouth looked ready for his kiss.

“Well, hell-o,” Rafe said. He thrust his hand toward her.

Kaiden stepped in front of his partner, breaking Rafe’s grip on the woman’s hand. “How can we help you, Miss—?”

“I’m Aurelia. Aurelia Brook.”

“Kaiden Marshall. And that’s Rafe Dean.”

Aurelia shook hands with Kaiden. He felt her touch like a brand and didn’t want to let go.

“I have a problem.” Her mouth tightened. “You’re not going to believe this.”

“Try us,” Rafe said.

Kaiden pulled a chair out for her.

“You’d better sit, too,” she said.

She told them about the curse and how the Seer had identified her true love, her cheeks had turning bright red. “So it’s one of you, but I don’t know which one.”

“You’ll need to sleep with us,” Kaiden said. “Maybe all three of us.”

She squirmed in her seat. “Yes.”
