As I prepared this blog hop stop, I thought a lot about which books I’ve read and enjoyed that had gods and goddesses from mythology in them. All the books that came to mind were Y/A. As you can probably see in the sidebar, I write romance, and fairly steamy romance at that. So I kind of wanted to do a mythology giveaway that would fall closer in line with my steamy paranormal romance books. I tried again to think of some…I thought of lots of great books, many of which have all manner of immortal creature. Some that I thought of even have ‘gods’ although those gods aren’t from mythology. In the end, I came back to those first series that sprang to mind.
I’ve very recently been reading the Mythos Academy series by Jennifer Estep. I love them. The gods and goddesses in this series are all around them and at the same time, distant. And I hesitate to say more because I don’t want to give away any spoilers. But I love this series so much I’m going to give away the first two in the series — the short story First Frost and the novel A Touch of Frost — as my giveaway below.
Another Y/A series I’ve read that kept popping into my head was the Percy Jackson series by Rick Riordan. That series has a whole different feel to it but I enjoyed it just as much as I’m enjoying Mythos Academy.
What about you? What books have you enjoyed that had gods and goddesses from mythology in them?
I enjoyed the Dark-Hunter series from Sherrilyn Kenyon, Percy Jackson books; the Meredith Gentry Series from Laurell K. Hamilton, the Nightside series from Simon R. Green are some that come to mind.
I’ve enjoyed Sherrilyn Kenyon’s Dark Hunter series, Gena Showalter’s Lords of the Underworld series, and Elisabeth Naughton’s Eternal Guardians series.

I really loved Hounded; it’s an adult book, for sure, and I thought by the title it would be more comedic, but it was an intelligent read about a the last Druid and all the problems faced when dealing with gods and goddesses.
My favorite mythology-based book I’ve read lately is Hounded. I thought, going by the title alone, that it would be more comedic in nature, but it was a fairly serious, very intelligent read, with adult scenes (very hot), and also including some paranormal creatures. I enjoyed it immensely. It dealt with the issues related to having to handle the gods and goddesses and try to keep them all happy, especially when some don’t like you and constantly “hound” you…thus the tongue in cheek humor. michelle_willms@yahoo.com

Works in Progress
Next up: I’m editing on His Dragon Heart, a long shifter romance novella set in the Colliding Worlds series that tells the story of Gillian (Keira’s sister) and the dragon shifter Damon, who kidnapped Gillian at the beginning of Her Scottish Alpha. I’m also working on the rough draft of Long Night’s Moon, the next book in the Mad Wolf’s Harem series.
Thank you for participating in this hop this week.
